IMAF – Francophone Workshop Session

This workshop is titled “Elements and Process in the Creative Making of Media Artworks” and will be instructed by Louise Lalonde, Didier Charles, and Denie Robert. The workshop will cover the media creation processes, from conceptualization, to writing, to actualization.

  • This workshop takes place on May 7th from 2-4pm at Ecole Evangeline in Abram’s Village and is open to students only.

Louise Lalonde is a graduate of the Trebas Institute Film School and works as an independent filmmaker and project manager for the PEI Screenwriters’ Bootcamp. She also sits on the Board of Directors for the PEI Council of the Arts. Her recent productions include Love Tore Me Open and Mr. Right. Currently she is completing Hole in My Heart, an experimental video set to a spoken piece based on a poem by Laurel Smyth.

Denis Robert, a Quebec-born film director/D.O.P,.moved to Prince Edward Island in April 2001. Since then he has produced and directed 10 short films. His last, is the one nearest and dearest to his heart “La région Évangéline”. In it, he shows heart-felt testimonials of people who have moved to settled in the area. “In essence, I’m telling my own story,” he admits.

Didier Charles, of Vernon Bridge PEI, is a filmmaker who both documents and fictional dramas such as “Voir Des Gens”, “Cinema Gin”, and “Un Soir”.He is also an accomplished cinematographer and editor.
